Washington s’oppose à toute tentative de changer le gouvernement

L’objectif des États-Unis pour Haïti demeure l’instauration d’un niveau minimal de sécurité et de stabilité. Toute tentative de modification de la composition du gouvernement par le Conseil présidentiel de transition (CPT), non élu, à ce stade avancé de son mandat, serait considérée par les États-Unis comme une manœuvre visant à saper cet objectif et, de ce fait, serait nulle et non avenue. Les États-Unis considéreraient que toute personne soutenant une telle initiative déstabilisatrice, favorable aux gangs, agirait à l’encontre des intérêts des États-Unis, de la région et du peuple haïtien, et prendront les mesures qui s’imposent en conséquence.

The U.S. objective for Haiti remains the establishment of baseline security and stability. The U.S. would regard any effort to change the composition of the government by the non-elected TPC at this late stage in its tenure to be an effort to undermine that objective and as such null and void. The U.S. would consider anyone supporting such a disruptive step favoring the gangs to be acting contrary to the interests of the United States, the region, and the Haitian people and will act accordingly.
